2016 Walkathon
Proctor Terrace Elementary School will be hosting its 9th annual Walk-a-thon FUNdraiser on September 30th, 2016. The goal of this fundraiser is to encourage children to participate in a healthy activity while raising money for our Parent Teacher Association (PTA).

8/31 & 9/1 – Disfruta after school Spanish classes begin on Wednesday, August 31st and Thursday, September 1st depending on grade level. Click here for more info.
9/1 – Coffee with the Principal on Thursday, September 1st at 8:30am in the library
9/5 – Labor Day Holiday/No School on Monday, September 5th
9/8 – Back to School Night – Thursday, September 8th from 6pm – 8pm. Minimum day schedule, 11:35am dismissal!
9/15 – School Picture Day on Thursday, September 15th
9/15 – Welcoming all parents, old and new, to the first PTA meeting of the year! This is a great way to meet parents and teachers, and get involved with the whole school community. The September meeting will present the upcoming budget, highlight the new and improved PTA programs such as the Science Guy and the Art Docent program, as well as give you updates from the teachers and our principal Mrs Olmsted. The meeting starts at 7pm onThursday, September 15th at the Proctor Terrace Library and will be kept to 1 hour. Join us and help make a difference for all our kids.
9/19 – Girls on the Run. Girls on the Run Fall 2016 – Program Starts the week of September 19th! Specific practice days and times will be announced the week of August 22nd.
Girls on the Run (GOTR) is a fun after-school program for 3rd to 5th grade girls that meets twice per week. Using the power of running and being active, girls learn important life skills such as teamwork, leadership, goal-setting, conflict resolution, and healthy decision making. At the end of the program, all girls participate in a non-competitive 5K (3.1 mile) run/walk event as a final personal challenge for the season (taking place December 3rd). Crossing the finish line produces a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction in everyone.
9/22 – ELAC (English Language Learner parent meeting) is Thursday, September 22nd at 8:15am in the Library
9/29 – School Site Council is the Thursday, September 29th at 2:45pm in the Library
9/30 – Annual Walkathon. More details about the walkathon soon!
The 2016/2017 school year is almost here!
Hello to our new and returning families!
Welcome! We’re excited to see you for the 2016-2017 school year. Here’s a quick rundown of upcoming back to school dates:
- 8/15 – Class lists will be posted August 15th at 4pm and there will be a welcome back picnic from 4pm – 7pm sponsored by the Proctor PTA. Enjoy our food or bring your own
- 8/16 – There is a kinder visit on August 16th from 1pm – 2pm. Kinder Visit – Please bring your child to see their Kinder Academy or Kindergarten classroom, meet their teacher and answer any questions you may have regarding our Kindergarten program.
- 8/17 – The first day of school is August 17th. School begins at 8:05 am for 1-6 grades and Kinder/TK starts at 8:10 am. This will be an early dismissal day: 1:25 for Kinder/TK and 1:30 for grades 1-6.
- 8/19 – Coffee Meet and Greet for TK/Kinder Parents. If you are a parent of a TK or Kinder student please join us for a cup of coffee in the Multi-Purpose Room at 8:15am on August 19th. This is a great way to meet other parents who have new students at Proctor. You can ask questions, introduce yourself and/or just stop by for a hot cup of joe. We look forward to seeing you there.

There are supplies and materials that are needed for our class which are difficult to fund with the limited supply budget of the school.
